How does BlueBackUp handle open files during the backup ?
- During a usual backup procedure, Open files in "shared" mode are backed up, but files opened in "exclusive" mode are skipped and noted in the log file.
- However, if the client uses an Open File Manager utility (OFM), all files can be backed up regardless of how they have been locked.
- Using the OFM, BlueBackUp can back up e-mail, databases, intranet applications, and all other open files - even if the files are changing during the backup.
